🌍 Translation Quality
Transparent, AI-powered multilingual news in 20 languages
Last Updated: March 15, 2026
Multilingual Launch: March 7, 2026 (Phase 1 + Phase 2 + Phase 3)
AI Sentia is proud to offer AI news in 20 languages, reaching approximately 4.85 billion speakers (95% of global internet users). Our mission is to democratize access to cutting-edge AI information, breaking down language barriers that have historically limited knowledge sharing in the AI community.
Translation Methodology
Source Language
All content on AI Sentia is originally collected, processed, and enriched in English. We monitor 35+ global sources including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google DeepMind, ArXiv, MIT, GitHub, and leading AI researchers. English serves as our authoritative source language.
Translation Services
We use two premium AI translation services:
- Sarvam AI (Hindi only): Premium Indian AI translation service specifically optimized for Hindi language. Sarvam AI understands Indian cultural context, technical terminology in Devanagari script, and regional linguistic nuances. Average accuracy: 95% for technical content. If Sarvam AI quota is exhausted, the system automatically falls back to Google Gemini for Hindi translation.
- Google Gemini 2.5 Flash (19 languages): State-of-the-art large language model with multilingual training across 100+ languages. Gemini excels at preserving technical terminology, handling code snippets, and maintaining context in complex AI/ML content. Average accuracy: 80-92% depending on language and content complexity.
Automated Workflow
Translation occurs automatically during our daily build process (midnight UTC). When new articles
are discovered and enriched (summary generation, persona assignment, metadata extraction),
they are simultaneously translated into all 20 languages. The entire workflow completes in
approximately 55-60 minutes, producing separate database files for each language
(e.g., database_hi.json,
database_es.json).
What Gets Translated
- Article titles — Localized for readability
- AI-generated summaries (1-2 sentences) — Full semantic translation
- Key takeaways (bullet points) — Translated with context preservation
- Persona labels (Developer, Research, Enterprise, Healthcare) — Localized terms
- User interface elements (buttons, filters, banners, footer) — Complete UI localization
What Stays in English
- Original article links — Always point to English source material
- Company names (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google DeepMind) — Brand names preserved
- Acronyms (LLM, API, GPU, AGI, RAG, LoRA) — Industry standard terms
- Code repositories — GitHub links and repository names unchanged
- Technical model names (GPT-4, Claude 3.5, Gemini 2.0) — Product identifiers preserved

Methodology Note: Accuracy ratings based on manual review of 100+ translated articles per language, focusing on preservation of technical meaning, terminology correctness, and contextual clarity. Ratings do not reflect grammatical perfection, but rather functional comprehension for technical readers. Your mileage may vary based on specific domain (research vs. product announcements).
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
Automated Quality Checks
- Character encoding validation: Ensures proper UTF-8 rendering for all scripts (Devanagari, Arabic, Cyrillic, CJK characters)
- Translation completeness: Verifies all required fields (title, summary, takeaways) are translated and non-empty
- Length sanity checks: Flags translations that are suspiciously short or excessively long compared to source text (may indicate mistranslation)
- Fallback handling: If primary translation service fails (API quota, timeout), system automatically retries with smart waiting strategies and maintains English fallback
User Feedback Mechanism
We actively monitor translation quality through user feedback. If you encounter a translation error, please report it via our feedback form. Include:
- Article URL or title
- Your selected language
- Description of the error (incorrect term, missing context, wrong meaning)
- Suggested correction (optional but helpful)
Periodic Manual Review
Our team conducts monthly manual reviews of high-engagement articles across all languages. Native speakers verify terminology accuracy, contextual appropriateness, and readability. Findings inform prompt engineering improvements and service selection decisions.
Known Limitations & Best Practices
Common Translation Challenges
- Emerging terminology: Newly coined AI terms (e.g., "Constitutional AI", "RLHF", "mixture-of-experts") may not have established translations in all languages. We preserve English terms when appropriate.
- Cultural context: Jokes, idioms, and cultural references in source articles may not translate meaningfully. Our summaries focus on factual information.
- Product-specific jargon: Company-specific terminology (e.g., "Claude Artifacts", "GPT Store") is sometimes transliterated rather than translated to maintain clarity.
- Code snippets: Programming code and command-line examples remain in English. Comments within code may be translated if they contain natural language explanations.
Recommended Usage
✅ Good Use Cases:
- Discovering new AI developments in your native language
- Scanning headlines and summaries for relevant topics
- Understanding general trends and announcements
- Sharing AI news with non-English-speaking colleagues
⚠️ Use with Caution:
- Academic research citations — always verify with English paper
- Technical implementation details — check original documentation
- Legal/compliance information — consult original policy documents
- Safety/security advisories — confirm with official source
Accessing Original Content
Every article includes a "Read Article" link that directs you to the original English source. The language selector in the header allows instant switching to English or any other supported language. Your language preference is saved locally (browser storage) for convenience.
